The Amphibians of Thailand are contained in three orders, divided into nine families. A total of 193 species is recorded from Thailand. Amphibian taxonomy is undergoing rapid change, with increased research and publication. Taxonomy and nomenclature follow Amphibians of Thailand, 2019 (in Thai), by Niyomwan, Srisom and Pawangkhanant, with updates and additions as published on Amphibiaweb and recent publications. No well-agreed taxonomic sequence for amphibians exists below family level, so most references list genera and species in alphabetic sequence - hardly ideal. The complete checklist, including ranges, citations, synonyms and some Thai names can be downloaded in Excel format: Thailand Amphibian Checklist. |
