On 29 and 30 Dec, at Chiang Dao, DYK sub-station, Large-tailed Nightjar, 2 Mrs. Hume's Pheasant, 2 Giant Nuthatch, Maroon Oriole, 2 Slender-billed Oriole, Lesser Yellownape, Black-winged Cuckooshrike, White-bellied Redstart heard, Red-eyed Scimitar Babbler heard, Mountain Bamboo Partridge, Oriental Turtle Dove, Grey-backed Shrike, Greenish Warbler, Pallas's Leaf Warbler, Hume's Leaf Warbler, Grey-crowned Warbler, Collared Owlet, Silver Pheasant, 12 Claudia's Leaf Warbler, 2 Martens's Warbler, 2 Speckled Piculet, 8 Silver-breasted Broadbill, 10 Large Woodshrike, 15 White-headed Bulbul and 50 Black Bulbul (half of which were white-headed birds). In rice fields at the start of the DYK track there was a single Chestnut Bunting. A brief walk to Wat Tham Pha Plong produced a Violet Cuckoo. |

On 31 Dec, south of Chiang Mai, Red Avadavat, male Pied Harrier, a Common Rosefinch, 2 Chestnut-tailed Starling and a Thick-billed Warbler. On 30 Dec, at Doi Suthep, Maroon Oriole, Yellow-cheeked Tit, Northern White-crowned Forktail, Two-barred Warbler, Davison's Leaf Warbler and Martens's Warbler. On 26-29 Dec, at Phichit, Greater Painted-snipe, Oriental Reed Warbler, Asian Golden Weaver and Cinnamon Bittern. On 20 Dec, at Doi Lang, a Himalayan Vulture photographed. |
