On 29 and 30 Dec, at Chiang Dao, DYK sub-station, Large-tailed Nightjar, 2 Mrs. Hume's Pheasant, 2 Giant Nuthatch, Maroon Oriole, 2 Slender-billed Oriole, Lesser Yellownape, Black-winged Cuckooshrike, White-bellied Redstart heard, Rusty-cheeked Scimitar Babbler heard, Mountain Bamboo Partridge, Rufous Turtle Dove, Grey-backed Shrike, Greenish Warbler, Pallas's Leaf Warbler, Hume's Leaf Warbler, Grey-crowned Warbler, Collared Owlet, Silver Pheasant, 12 Claudia's Leaf Warbler, 2 Martens's Warbler, 2 Speckled Piculet, 8 Silver-breasted Broadbill, 10 Large Woodshrike, 15 White-headed Bulbul and 50 Black Bulbul (half of which were white-headed birds). In rice fields at the start of the DYK track there was a single Chestnut Bunting. A brief walk to Wat Tham Pha Plong produced a Violet Cuckoo.
