On 5 Jan, report from Laem Phak Bia. I struggled to find Nordmann's Greenshanks and eventually had to call Khun Daeng. Daeng told me he had failed to find the regular flocks for several days now. He was afraid they had fallen prey to poachers. I kept looking and eventually found one bird. Very poor compared with what I usually see. I went to the area by the green roof building. I spoke with the man I always see there. I inquired about bird trapping and he confirmed that a villager from nearby regularly comes to trap birds at night......." read full report.
