Following months of press releases about increasing National Park entrance fees, some have actually occurred. As usual, no coherent implementation, notice or reason has been published, other than an article in Coconuts Bangkok highlighting that foriegners are expected to pay ten times the local rate - a nice way to attract tourists! In the last couple of weeks several parks were visited. Fees have been raised at Doi Inthanon (now 300 Baht for foreigners), Doi Pha Hom Pok (300 Baht for foreigners) and Kaeng Krachan (now 300 Baht for foreigners), but unchanged at Khao Yai (at 400 Baht for foreigners), Mae Ping (100 Baht for foreigners) and Mae Wong (200 Baht for foreigners).
